White label CRM: resell one, or build your own?

The 2026 agency guide to white-label CRM — what white-labelling actually covers, what GoHighLevel SaaS mode and Vendasta really cost, and when building your own stops making sense.

What "white label" has to mean

A white-label CRM isn't a logo swap on the login page. If your client can tell it's someone else's software, it isn't white-labelled. The surfaces that matter: the client portal, proposals, invoices and payment receipts, reports, booking pages, and the emails all of it sends.

Anything less and you're renting someone's brand with a sticker on it.

The resell route (and its price)

GoHighLevel's SaaS mode is the famous version: resell the whole platform under your brand, at ~£497/mo before per-account economics. Vendasta takes a marketplace cut per product. Both work at volume — and both mean your margin is a function of their price list.

The flat alternative: pay one platform price, charge your clients whatever your market bears, keep the difference. That's the model we built — white-label is a £49/mo add-on on any plan, domain and HTTPS included.

The build route (and its graveyard)

Build your own and you own everything: the roadmap, the bugs, the 2am pager. Every agency that's tried it reports the same curve — six months of excitement, two years of maintenance, and a feature set permanently behind the platforms.

The niche play is where building dies hardest: "the CRM for gyms" sounds like a product until you're writing Stripe webhooks at midnight. The move in 2026: white-label a platform that already does the work, and pour your energy into the niche's go-to-market instead.

The checklist before you commit

Whichever platform you pick, make it pass this:

  • Client portal under YOUR domain with automatic HTTPS
  • Proposals and invoices paid in your name — not "powered by" anything
  • Reports branded per client, generated automatically
  • Support stays yours; the platform stays invisible
  • Pricing where the white-label tier isn't 4× the base plan
